Spywares…begone!
Tuesday, December 20th, 2005 Well, today, this morning, I had just woke up from my sleep… When my brother came and tell me, "Eh, how come there’s this ‘SpySheriff Activation Code’ thingy poping up on the computer? " And I was really bluRr that time, just woke up…what do ya expect? , but I just went to see the PC… And there it was, some SpySheriff program, that just ‘finished’ scanning my PC for spywares, and there’s this window dialouge box that prompts for the ‘Activation Code’ as the ‘Trial Version’ can’t remove all the spyware threats…
At that point, I was like, "Huh? Since when did I install this SpySheriff program?" All the while I’ve been using Spybot Search & Destroy as my reliable spyware remover =) So I just try to exit that program… But right after I close the program, there’s this popup dialouge bubble from my taskbar, that says something like, "Your PC is At Risk. Click here to find out how to remove them." I just choose to ignore it…hoping that it will go away in a while… in the meantime, I quickly start the Spybot Search & Destroy program and scanned my system… But then, in just a few minutes later, the ‘annoying’ SpySheriff program somehow just loaded itself, and begin to scan the PC too… And the response is the same… After a while, there’s this dialouge box that prompts for the ‘Activation Code’ yet again… Same cycle…on and on… I close the program…and after a few minutes, it auto-restarted again… Well, it really pisses me off…
And after the scan by Spybot Search & Destroy…It reported no spywares… I felt weird… "How can that be? Perhaps my version of Spybot Search & Destroy is already outdated…" So I quickly go the the official site of Spybot Search & Destroy and downloaded the latest version… I installed it… and re-scan my PC…with the latest version this time =) And it found about 75+ of spyware and its kind hidden in my PC… And guess what ? SpySheriff is one of them… Haha… Well, not much to my suprise though… as I’ve been thinking, how could this program just entered into the PC without me installing or downloading it ? After removing all the detected spybots using the Spybot Search & Destroy, the annoying SpySheriff doesn’t auto-load itself anymore… Phew, finally some relieve… Haha =) But I thought that might not be enough…so I restart my PC and re-scanned my PC… and remove whatever threats it has found… So now, hopefully my PC is free from all those spywares and annoying things =)
Spywares really pisses me off and annoys me to the MaXx… But its kinda ‘cool’ too…HAha… When I was scanning my PC using Spybot Search & Destroy… I just leave the PC idle…while its scanning…and guess what, the PC just ‘open’ the Start Menu and used the Run function…and started the program MSPAINT… I did not really get to see what happened…as I was kinda away that time… but when I return, the MSPaint program has loaded and there was some ’scribbling’ on the canvas… and the mouse just moved by itself…and attempts to close the MSPaint program, as if sensing my presence… It clicked the ‘ X ‘ button, and the dialouge box prompting if you want to save the picture appear, I quickly moved the mouse…and luckily…the mouse follows my movement… so I just click No…and close the MSPaint Program… =) Then after a while… the PC idle again… the ‘process’ started again… This time, it ‘open’ the Start Menu, choosed Run, and started the command prompt… I was dumbfounded… What is it trying to do? Format my PC ?? Before it could do anything more… I moved my mouse and closed that command prompt… Wow…kinda scary…haha =)
I think, I’m not the only one who has experienced these spyware, adware, bots kinda thing rite? For me, like I said before, the most reliable spyware remover is Spybot Search & Destroy… Here’s the link to its page :
For those of you who haven’t heard of it or doesn’t have any kind of spyware remover… I fully recommend you that program… Install it and scan your PC with it…you may be suprised at the number of spywares hidden in you PC. =)
